Corona

Steri-Clean has the only effective protocol and training to ELIMINATE the viruses from any environment. COVID-19  (SARS-CoV-2) is a virus that affects the respiratory tract and is spread with person to person contact.

Symptoms: According to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) reported illnesses have ranged from people with little to no symptoms to people being severely ill and dying. Symptoms may appear in as few as 2 days or as long as 14 after exposure. Symptoms can include: fever, cough and shortness of breath.

Prevention & Treatment
The CDC believes the best way to prevent infection is to avoid being exposed to the virus and recommends everyday preventative actions to help prevent from spreading:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands

  • Avoid close contact with people who appear to be sick

  • Stay at home if you are sick

  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, throw the tissue in the trash, then wash your hands thoroughly

  • Clean and apply disinfectant to commonly touched objects and surfaces (See next paragraph)

About Coronavirus: What You Need to Know

Superbug Cleanup Steri-Clean® Connecticut

Superbugs are named for their ability to be resistant to all kinds of antibiotics. They spread quickly and easily through coming into contact with infected people as well as infected objects and surfaces. A superbug’s resistance and the rapid rate at which it spreads is what also makes them so dangerous. Currently, there are many types of superbugs but the two most common are Clostridioides Difficile (known as C-Diff) and Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus (known as MRSA.)

The C-Diff Superbug

In the U.S Clostridioides Difficile infects around half a million people each year. Statistically, 20% of people who get C-Diff will get reinfected. It’s particularly dangerous in people over 65, as almost 10% of them die within a month of diagnosis. Those who have a weakened immune system are more susceptible to this particular superbug.

C-Diff is known to cause colitis––which is inflammation of the colon. Those who are infected are likely to experience symptoms such as fever, stomach cramps, loss of appetite, nausea, and diarrhea. Doctors can diagnose if these symptoms are caused by C-Diff from various blood tests. When these tests are positive, patients need to take antibiotics for 10 days and in very severe cases, some patients need to be hospitalized.

The MRSA Superbug

MRSA is transmitted in the same way as C-Diff. In the States, around 90,000 people contract it every year, and of those, 22 % will die from it––many of which will be children. Some of the most vulnerable to get MRSA are older adults, children, and those who have a weakened immune system.

MRSA begins with a skin infection and people will notice small bumps on their skin, and often underneath the hair. After this, a fever develops, followed by cold and hot chills and a severe headache. Lastly, blisters begin to appear on the skin. Treatment for MRSA includes draining the blisters and starting a regimen of antibiotics for up to 14 days.
