COMPASSIONATE HELP CLEANING PROLONGED DEATH SCENES AND THEIR ASSOCIATED ODORS IN CONNECTICUT.

Decomposition Cleanup - Steri-Clean® Connecticut

Biohazards from decomposing bodies can cause harm to both the environment and humans. When a biohazard isn’t properly cleaned up it releases tiny microorganisms via contact and air. If not professionally cleaned, spilled blood, body fluids, and human waste can cause big problems. When cleaning up any type of biohazard, Steri-Clean® Connecticut uses EPA standards during the cleanup, which quickly eradicates long-lasting biohazards such as Hepatitis.

UNATTENDED DEATH AND DECOMPOSITION CLEANUP

Finding a friend or family member who has passed away can be truly devastating and disturbing. An unattended death is when a person dies and has not been discovered for days, weeks, or even months. In cases like this, the body begins to decompose and breakdown from as little as 24 hours. This means, on top of the trauma, you will be faced with an awful mess and odor to clean up.

The decomposition process starts with algor mortis, which is the period when the body cools off and takes on the temperature of the surrounding environment. This is also the period when body fluids like blood can pool to the parts of the body that are closest to the ground. When these fluids seep out onto the ground below the body, they can saturate the area. As you can imagine, these fluids can be dangerous to humans.

Next, the body’s muscles stiffen and become difficult to move, this stage is known as rigor mortis. This can happen anywhere from 2-6 hours following death. As the body continues to decay, enzymes and bacteria in the body start to break it down. These then spread outside the body, causing the odor.

With the disturbing nature of decomposition, coupled with the health hazards, a cleanup of this magnitude should be left to the likes of our trained professionals.
